JMB ENGINEERING WORKS was Created by Our Founders Mr. John Bothello & Mrs. Mary Bothello. It has its Origins at Our Home at Bandra West, Mumbai in the Year 1978. The Little Area in Front of Our House had a Small Iron Box which had a Vice fixed on top and a Small 2 Door Compartment Below. This was Our Little Workshop at Home!!
Our Dad –Mr. John Bothello was a Skilled Craftsman & Served with Great Honesty to His Employer M/s D Vaz & Co. until 1976 when it moved to Goa.
Our Mother –Mrs. Mary Bothello was the Co-Founder who with Great Grit Inspired Dad to Never Give Up Inspite of Several Obstacles in Making Our First Planetary Mixer. It was Sold to Merwan’s Bakery in 1978 and thereafter there was No Looking Back.
On 18TH February 1984 we came to Our Little 300 sq. feet Workshop at Kondivitta Road.
It now became a place to Try Out New Designs, Do Trials & Create THE PLANETARY MIXER FOR MUMBAI. We fabricated our Mixer Bodies, Used Best Transmission Gears & Gearboxes from Automobile Industry AND we Created History. Imagine The Planetary Cake Mixer having a Mahindra Jeep Gear Box to Deliver the Torque & 4-Speed Transmission. It was a Great Success we sold many units across India.
Subsequent Years saw The Sons of the Bothello Family, Peter & Richard join the Family Business. It brought Fresh Legs into the Business & Fresh Ideas. It also brought The Hunger to Succeed and Become Famous as their Dad John Bothello. We now had the Single Arm Dough Kneader & Bread Slicer as an Addition to our Product List. During this period, we were Greatly Blessed to Work with Brands Like Venus Confectioners, Mc Ronnels, Monginis, Upper Crust, etc.
JMB Engineering Works was now Quite Well Known in Western India and it was a New Page Everyday as the Story became Bigger with Each Passing Year with the addition of several more Bakery Equipments along with Specialty Kitchen Setups. Our Raw Materials Were Effectively Upgraded in the early 90’s with Addition of Bonfiglioli Gearboxes, Jindal Profile Plates, SKF Bearings, Hindustan Motors, Delta VFD, and Seimens & Telemechanique Switchgear, Polycab Cabels, etc.

In 2003 Mr. Peter & Mr. Richard attended IBA at Germany. It brought us Alignments & Contacts. We Started with Representing Salva Industrial-Spain. Further on we got Associated with Brands like Macpan, SPAR mixers, Zmatik, ICB and Vitella. In 2004 JMB Bakery Equipments took its roots from its Self-Owned Industrial Premises.
JMB is now seen at Most Airport Flight Kitchens, Industrial Bakeries, Hospital Kitchens, Industrial Canteens, Bakery Schools, Small Community & Artisanal Bakeries. We also Export Equipments across UAE, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria & USA. At 2025 we are now a Complete Package for Bakers providing them with Our Rich Experience of 41 Years and Our Quality Locally Produced Mixers, Dough Kneaders along with Our Foreign Associate Supplied Ovens, Proofers, Dough Sheeters, Bun Dividers, Chocolate Tempering Machines, etc.
In January 2026 we are working hard to Install a Bakery Machinery Showroom with Test Kitchen Facility.
